Alpha Course

Curious about Faith?

Alpha is a series that explores the basics of the Christian faith in a welcoming, open and friendly environment. It’s free and there’s no pressure or follow-up.

Each session you’ll be hosted in a group where you’ll hear hear different topics on Christianity and have time to chat through any thoughts. You can say anything you like or nothing at all!

Everyone’s welcome. No matter your background or beliefs, you’re invited.

Our next Alpha course begins on 27th September at 7:30 pm at St Luke’s Church. You can find us here.

Online Services

Each Sunday we broadcast our 10:45 service of Family Worship. The live stream will normally start shortly before the service is scheduled to begin so as to give you time to get setup for the beginning of the service. Our services are broadcast on YouTube.

Giving

Your giving matters more than ever.

Our churches are dependent on the your generosity never more so than now. We are doing everything we can to offer help to those who need it through our through our support of the asylum seekers and the food pantry and at the same time continuing to provide all of the  functions of an active parish church.

As a part of Church Wigan, we have a commitment to meet our portion of the parish share as well as meeting the regular expenses of a large parish. In addition to one off donations  we do need to take the opportunity to renew our giving.  Each of us can ask the Lord how we can give financially as part of St Thomas’s and St Luke’s.  This may be the opportunity to begin a regular pattern of giving,  or to review and increase the amount we can contribute to the life and work of our church. We need your support so that we can  continue with our work here in the community of Ashton in Makerfield.

Everything we do at St Thomas and St Luke is made possible by your giving, Thank You.

Prayer

A very important part of our mission is to pray for God’s world. We are committed to praying for both the people of Ashton and our global neighbours in the wider world. If you have a prayer request then we would like to be able to pray for it. Please visit our prayer request page for more details.

Welcome!

Welcome to St Thomas’ and St Luke’s church web site

There’s lots of information on our website and some people may just be looking for the church notices sheet. However we’d like to encourage you to take a look around to see what kinds of things go on at both St. Thomas’ and St. Luke’s Church in Ashton-in-Makerfield.

If you have any questions then you can email the Church Office or you can call us on 01942 727275.
