MothersUnion

Introduction

The Mothers’ Union at St Thomas and St Luke’s is part of the Mothers’ Union worldwide. Our organisation spans 83 countries and has over four million members. Our aim is to promote the well-being of families globally, something we’ve been focused on since 1876 when Mary Sumner held the first Mothers Union meeting.

Central to our aim is to demonstrate the Christian faith in action by the transformation of our  world wide communities through promoting stable marriage, maturing family life and the protection of children.

Becoming a Member

Membership isn’t limited to Mums, in fact it is for both men and women, regardless of age or marital status. If you’d like more information about becoming a member please contact us.

We meet once a month, usually with a guest speaker on the 3rd Wednesday in St Thomas’ Church Hall at 7:30 pm. All are welcome and we look forward to seeing you.

The Mothers’ Union Prayer

“Loving Lord, we thank you for your love so freely given to us all. We pray for families around the world. Bless the work of the Mothers’ Union as we seek to share your love through the encouragement, strengthening and support of marriage and family life. Empowered by your spirit, may we be united in prayer and worship and in love and service reach out as your hands across the world. In Jesus’ name”
